Newton Saint Margarets is a tiny hamlet in a quiet rural corner of South-West Herefordshire and is set in the rolling hill country of the Welsh Marches famous for its landscape beauty and history.  The two-bedroomed cottage is situated on a ridge above the cider orchards and meadows of the lush Golden Valley and is in sight of the dramatic Black Mountains range of the Brecon Beacons.   This warm, cosy cottage has recently been completely refurbished to provide a comfortable stay for your self-catering holiday for up to 4 people.

We are about 12 miles from Hay-on-Wye, 15 miles from Hereford and 15 miles or so from Abergavenny with the nearest local village shops about 6 miles away.

There are lots of opportunities for an interesting stay with activities to suit most tastes - from dare-devil exploits in the mountains and the River Wye, to the gentler pursuits of strolls around quiet country lanes, visiting historic churches and gardens, hill walking, castle-hopping, photography - or just curling up in the cottage next to the woodburner with a good book.  Don’t forget to pack your laptop, walking boots, camera, sketchbook, paint-box, binoculars, canoe, fishing rod, your half-written

novel …….. !

Upper Crossway is a traditional stone-built smallholder’s cottage set in its own private and pretty cottage garden.  The cottage retains some of the character of former years, including 3 well-signed low doors, but you will find more contemporary features and comforts such as Wi-Fi, phone, TV and DVD player, lovely shower room, comfy beds and so on - in fact, everything to make your stay as restful, comfortable and interesting as possible.

The cottage comprises a large entrance porch, kitchen/breakfast room, dining room, sitting room with woodburner, shower room, a double bedroom and twin/kingsize bedroom.

Although the cottage is semi-detached with our own house next door, it is completely private (see floor plans).  You can be assured that after an initial welcome your privacy is respected.
